It’s my belief the Jays did a good bit of business here, and that the trade that brought Raimel Tapia to the Jays is already a win. In fact, I’d argue that the 28-year-old Tapia is far too over-hated and has had a better season than Randal Grichuk.
Raimel Tapia will be the last of the batters that we run through this little exercise. Cavan Biggio only had 153 PA, so we’ll give him and Zimmer and the rest an incomplete Tapia came over from the Rockies with Adrian Pinto for Randal Grichuk.

The 27-year-old Tapia (28 in February) has taken the lion’s share of playing time in left field for the Rox over the past three seasons, hitting at a combined .282/.327/.394 batting line (solid on the surface but a 79 wRC+).
